1/2 Hizb 33

۞ To Abraham We gave the right guidance and We knew him very well. 51 When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?" 52 They said: we found our fathers the worshippers thereof. 53 He said: "You and your fathers were in clear error." 54 They said: hast thou come unto us with the truth, or art thou of those who sport? 55 He said: "In fact it was your Lord, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them; and I bear witness to this. 56 And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs. 57 He broke them all into pieces, except their great one so that they might return to it. 58 They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers." 59 They said, 'We heard a young man making mention of them, and he was called Abraham.' 60 The others said: "Bring him, then, before the eyes of the people that they may see (what will be done to him)." 61 They said, “Did you do this to our Gods, O Ibrahim?” 62 He said: rather he hath wrought it, this big one of them; so question them, if they ever speak. 63 So they turned to themselves and said, "Surely ye are the ones in the wrong!" 64 Then they were utterly put to confusion saying, 'Very well indeed thou knowest these do not speak.' 65 (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? 66 “Disgrace be upon you and all the idols whom you worship instead of Allah; so do you not have sense?” 67 They said: burn him, and succour your gods, if ye will be doing. 68 We said, 'O fire, be coolness and safety for Abraham!' 69 They had sought to do him harm, but We frustrated them. 70 and We saved him and Lot and brought him to the land upon which We had bestowed Our blessings for all the people of the world. 71 And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac), and (a grandson) Ya'qub (Jacob). Each one We made righteous. 72 We made them leaders who guided people by Our command. We revealed to them the doing of good, observance of prayer and the giving of alms and Us alone did they worship. 73 And to Lut, too, We gave Judgment and Knowledge, and We saved him from the town which practised abominations: truly they were a people given to Evil, a rebellious people. 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy; indeed he is among those who deserve Our proximity. 75
