Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O people, fear your Lord; indeed the earthquake of the Last Day is a tremendous thing. 1 On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe. 2 And yet there are men who contend about God without understanding, and follow every wayward devil 3 Who, it is inscribed, will beguile whoever follows him, and lead him to the torment of Hell. 4 O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth sterile land, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage. 5 This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things. 6 And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves. 7 Some people argue about God without knowledge, guidance, and an enlightening Book. 8 turning his side to lead astray from God's way; for him is degradation in this world; and on the Resurrection Day We shall let him taste the chastisement of the burning: 9 That is the outcome of what your own hands have wrought, for Allah never wrongs His creatures. 10
