O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 NAY, [as for those who have torn asunder the unity of faith] - their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this! But apart from that [breach of unity] they have [on their conscience even worse] deeds; and they will [continue to] commit them 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
