The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ BLESSED IS HE who revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong) to His votary that it may be a warning for the world, -- 1 He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination. 2 Yet they choose beside Him other gods who create naught but are themselves created, and possess not hurt nor profit for themselves, and possess not death nor life, nor power to raise the dead. 3 Those who have rejected the Message of the Prophet, say, "This (Al-Furgan) is a forgery which this man himself has devised, and some others have helped him at it. " What a cruel injustice and an impudent lie! 4 And they say: "Fables of ancient times which he has caused to be written down, so that they might be read out to him at morn and evening!" 5 Say [O Muhammad]: "He who knows all the mysteries of the heavens and the earth has bestowed from on high this [Qur'an upon me]! Verily, He is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace!" 6 And they say: What is the matter with this Apostle that he eats food and goes about in the markets; why has not an angel been sent down to him, so that he should have been a warner with him? 7 Why has a treasure not been laid out for him or a garden from which he could eat been given to him." The unjust ones say, "You are merely following a bewitched person". 8 Just see what comparisons they bring up for you! They are lost and cannot find the way. 9
