And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 “And you committed the deed of yours that you committed, and you were ungrateful.” 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
