And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
