Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you call?" 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your fathers? 76 "They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation." 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 "And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised." 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 "So now we do not have any intercessors." The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none. 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
