And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 no caring friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
