The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
