Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
