The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
