The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
