The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
