The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
