The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
