The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
