And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
