This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
