This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
