And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
