And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
