There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth. We revive it and We produce grain from it of which they eat. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God). 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered, 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 And whenever a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they always turn away from it! 46 and when they are told, "Give to others out of what God has provided for you," those who are bent on denying the truth say to the believers, "Why should we feed those whom God could feed if He wanted? You are clearly in error!" 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
