The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] lined up in rows 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
