The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 and the scarers scaring 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 AND NOW ask those [who deny the truth] to enlighten thee: Were they more difficult to create than all those [untold marvels] that We have created? - for, behold, them have We created out of [mere] clay commingled with water! 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
