۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 What, do we then not die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
