۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
