۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In gardens of delight, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
