1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Then, are we not to die 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
