3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
