Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 What though they would say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
