Whatever hardship befalls you is the result of your own deeds. God pardons many of your sins. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 Among His signs are the ships sailing like mountains on the sea: 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 or else He may cause them to perish because of what they have wrought; and [withal,] He pardons much. 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
