As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 and they bar them from the way, and they think they are guided, 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 So will you make the deaf listen or show the path to the blind, and to those who are in open error? (The disbelievers whose hearts are sealed, are deaf and blind to the truth). 40 Even if We take thee away, We shall be sure to exact retribution from them, 41 or show them to you suffering the torment with which We had threatened them. We are certainly dominant over them all. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
