۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 When Jesus came with clear proof (in support of his truthfulness), he said, "I have come to you with wisdom to clarify for you some of the matters in which you have disputes. Have fear of God and obey me. 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
