۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 and say, 'What, are our gods better, or he?' They cite not him to thee, save to dispute;. nay, but they are a people contentious. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 What are they waiting for – except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 Friends on that day shall be foes to one another, but the god-fearing. 67
