۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol: 25, Page 89]. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 do not let Satan bar your way. He is truly your sworn enemy. 62 When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, "Now I have come to you with wisdom, in order to make clear to you some of the things about which you dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 What are they waiting for – except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 On that Day, [erstwhile] friends will be foes unto one another - [all] save the God-conscious. 67
