And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
