We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 These people say, 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
