And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
