Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
