Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
