Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
