The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 none can avert that. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
