The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And the Book written 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
