So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
