The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the star when it goes down. 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. 3 that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired 4 taught him by one terrible in power, 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 being on the higher horizon, 7 Then he drew near and drew closer 8 And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; 9 So Allah divinely revealed to His bondman, whatever He divinely revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 Are you, then, going to contend with him regarding what he sees with his eyes? 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha [lote-tree of the utmost boundary (beyond which none can pass)], 14 Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode. 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold. 17 He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you then considered Al-Lat, and Al-'Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs). 19 and your third idol al-Manat (whom you considered as God's daughters)? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 This indeed is an unjust division! 22 These are only names which you and your fathers have invented. No authority was sent down by God for them. They only follow conjecture and wish-fulfilment, even though guidance had come to them already from their Lord. 23 Can ever man get what he desires? 24 To God belong the End and the Beginning. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
