Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
