Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
