Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
