The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
