The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
